Oak Grove, KY – The city of Oak Grove has agreed to drop a suit seeking to force the county school board to build a new school. City Attorney Jason Holland dismissed the suit brought by multiple parents against the Christian County School Board late last week. School board attorney Jack Lackey says parents waited too long to file the lawsuit. The parents sued last October hoping U.S. District Judge Thomas Russell would order the board to build a school in Oak Grove before replacing or building a new school elsewhere in Christian County. The plaintiffs had until June 2010 to object to the Kentucky Board of Education's approved list of new school construction and improvement projects.
