Beshear Defends Record to County Leaders

By Todd Hatton

Murray, KY – Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear says job growth will remain his top priority if he wins a second term next month. Beshear made his remarks Wednesday at the Kentucky Association of Counties annual conference. He told county leaders the commonwealth has weathered the national recession better than most states. Beshear took credit for cutting the size of state government to offset sharp tax revenue declines. And he says his efforts to update state incentive programs have resulted in billions in potential business investments in the state. Beshear is running against Republican David Williams and independent Gatewood Galbraith in the November election.
