Ohio County, KY – Rescue teams have recovered the bodies of two Hopkins County men buried in an accident at an Ohio County surface mine this morning. Forty-seven-year-old Darrel Winstead of Madisonville and 23-year-old Samuel Lindsey of Mortons Gap were in their truck at Armstrong Coal's Equality surface mine when a highwall collapsed, burying the men and their vehicle under tons of rock. The Kentucky Office of Mine Safety and Licensing will conduct an investigation, and the mine will remain closed until it is complete.
