Murray, KY – Election officials in all 95 Tennessee counties will be holding town hall meetings and open forums for voters to ask questions about a new law requiring photo I.D. at the polls. The secretary of the state's website has a list of locations and times for each county's outreach meetings scheduled for Tuesday. Election officials say this is the first time voter outreach programs have been held in conjunction in all 95 counties. The new law takes effect January 1. It requires people to show a valid state or federal government-issued photo ID to vote. There are some exceptions, including people who vote absentee by mail, people staying in nursing homes or hospitals and people who have religious objections to being photographed.
