Murray, KY – A traffic accident closing KY Highway 80 yesterday morning led to an arrest during the six hours the roadway was closed. Moments after a semi carrying logs spilled its cargo on the roadway at the Calloway- Graves County line, a second car traveling in the opposite direction struck a log. The driver then left the vehicle and fled the scene in spite of the truck driver's need for assistance. 32-year-old James Vasquez was subsequently caught and arrested for fleeing the scene of the crash, failing to render aid, and failing to report an accident among other charges. The West Kentucky Star reports Vasquez admitted to fleeing the scene because he was driving on a suspended license.
