Murray, KY – The Union City council has approved construction of a public safe room to be used during severe weather. It will hold 150 people and will be built near nursing homes and residential homes. City officials told the Union City Daily Messenger the room will be funded in total by the Federal Emergency Management Agency. During recent severe weather, residents have gone to city hall and schools.
