Henry County, TN – The former director of a west Tennessee Drug Task Force has been indicted on theft and other charges. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation says the Henry County Grand Jury indicted 58-year-old Steve Lee of McKenzie this week. Lee faces charges of theft, official misconduct and lying to an auditor. Lee was the 24th Judicial Districtdrug task force director at the time of the alleged offenses. The TBI says the state comptroller's office discovered missing funds during an audit. Last March, TBI received new information about illegal purchases of equipment and misuse of seized items by members of the task force. Officials have not disclosed the amount of the missing funds.
