Murray, KY – Gusty winds come with a chance of storms and a cold front tonight. A tornado watch is in effect until 10:00 p.m. for all Kentucky and Illinois counties in the WKMS Listening area.
The Storm Prediction Center has placed the western half of Kentucky in a slight risk of severe weather for the next 24 hours. The potential storms could bring up to 2 inches of rainfall.
Today's gusty winds have damaged signs and some trees, and prompted the closure of the Dorena Hickman Ferry, it has since re-opened. Weather officials urge against burning anything outdoors. They also caution boat pilots and vehicle drivers of the high winds.
