Murray, KY – Kentucky has received a financial boost to clean up illegal dumps. Governor Steve Beshear announced over 2 million dollars in grant funding Monday awarded to clean up 171 illegal dumps in 29 Kentucky counties. The Kentucky Pride Fund provided the financial support. It's the first legislated and ongoing source of state money for dump cleanup. Prior to fund's creation, counties and the federal government funded illegal open dump cleanup.
