Murray, KY – Transportation specialists say there will be more people on the region's roads this holiday season. Triple A's Louisville spokesman Roger Boyd says they expect the number of people traveling 50 miles or more this year to be up four percent. The Paducah Sun reports Thanksgiving is the first holiday this year with an expected increase in travel. While 90% of those polled report traveling via car, Paducah airport bookings are up more than seven percent. Officials also say the holiday weekend is a good time to inspect your car in preparation for winter weather.
