Owensboro, KY – A $14 million Kentucky National Guard Center in Owensboro should be finished by the end of the year. A&K Construction Manager Bill Boyd tells The Owensboro Messenger-Inquirer most of the exterior work on the building is done, but wet weather has delayed work on the landscaping and parking lot. Work on the almost 58,000 square-foot facility at the Owensboro-Daviess County Regional Airport started in the summer of 2010. Adjutant General Edward W. Tonini says the readiness center would give the Guard access for aircraft during natural disasters.
