Murray, KY – Ballard County Schools will be closed on today in honor of late superintendent Ed Adami. The 60-year-old Adami died Friday morning at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. The cause of death was not immediately available. He had been superintendent since 2004. During his tenure, Adami oversaw the construction and opening of the new Ballard Memorial High School and Middle School complex. He began his teaching career in 1974 as a band director in Massac County, Illinois. He received his professional certification at Murray State University, and his Bachelor and Master degrees at Southeast Missouri State University. He is survived by his wife Teresa, and daughters Megan and Elizabeth.
