Murray, KY – An early Sunday morning wreck on I-24 led to injuries for two Paducah men and could result in criminal charges for a third. 18-year-old Richard Guzman was driving in the west-bound lane when his car ran off the road and hit a guard rail and bridge wall just past Exit 11 at about 1:15 a.m. Police say the car then traveled across the west-bound lanes and hit another wall. 23-year-old passenger Mathew Mayo was thrown from the car. He was listed in critical condition at Lourdes Hospital. Another passenger, 17-year-old Michael Morrison, sustained non-life threatening injuries. The Paducah Sun reports Guzman left the site before emergency responders arrived. He hasn't yet been located. Authorities say they'll seek charges against Guzman for failing to render aid and leaving the scene of an accident involving injury and property damage. Police say rainy weather and traveling too fast for conditions contributed to the wreck.
