IL Lawmakers Return for Special Session

Springfield, IL – The Illinois legislature has reconvened this week for a special session to consider several matters including tax breaks for companies to keep them in the state. A house committee has approved a $250 million package for the companies, the full House could vote on the measure today. The state budget is another topic for consideration during the session. State lawmakers could attempt to work around Gov Pat Quinn's plan to cut jobs and close several state facilities to save money.
