Massac County, IL – A Massac County man is in jail on charges he murdered his young son more than a year ago. Illinois State Police along with Metropolis Police say 35-year-old John Pruett of Metropolis was indicted by a Massac County Grand Jury Wednesday for the alleged murder of 15-month-old Jackson Pruett. Police say on April 19, 2010, Jackson had been taken unresponsive to Massac Memorial Hospital in Metropolis. He died two days later at St. Louis Children's Hospital from a closed head injury. The Illinois State Police and Metropolis Police Department conducted an investigation leading to Pruett's arrest.
