Murray, KY – The Paducah Police Department has notified people living in "Tent City" to vacate by noon tomorrow or risk being arrested for trespassing. Tent City is an area on private and Paducah city properties where several homeless persons have set up tents. Officers visited the area this morning to talk with those living there, and hand out flyers listing organizations that can provide assistance. The City of Paducah has contacted various social agencies and verified that they have adequate space to accommodate those affected. Also, the Paducah Planning Department will introduce an ordinance at tonight's city commission meeting to allow the establishment of homeless shelters within the city limits.
