KY and IL See Decrease in Unemployment Rates

Frankfort, KY – Kentucky and Illinois' seasonally adjusted unemployment rates fell slightly last month according to state reports. According to the Kentucky Office of Employment and Training, the state's rate fell to 9.4% in November from 9.6% in October. Kentucky's November 2011 rate is the lowest since January 2009. The Illinois Department of Employment Security reports that state's seasonally adjusted unemployment decreased slightly to 10%. IDES Director Jay Rowell says the state has recorded job growth in eight of the past 11 months. Both state's unemployment rates remain above the national rate of 8.6%.
