Murray, KY – Warmer temperatures in the region are causing liquid winter precipitation instead of snow that might please more people at least on Sunday. The lack of snow and ice is due to the weather system La Nina's positive pattern. Meteorologist Jim Packett is with the Paducah weather service.
"The La Nina would keep us wet, but if it went negative, it would keep us in a colder pattern. Right now we're in a warmer wetter pattern. Last year we were in a colder weather pattern."
The National Weather Service predicts only a 15% chance of seeing snow on Christmas.
