Grant applications sought for recycling projects

By AP

Kentucky – Kentucky officials are accepting grant applications for projects to promote recycling. The eligible projects are aimed at developing recycling infrastructure and promoting public education programs for recycling. The state says the grant comes from the Kentucky Pride Fund. It's underwritten by a $1.75 per ton fee on municipal solid waste disposed of in Kentucky landfills. The state Division of Waste Management is accepting applications until April 2 of next year. Local governments are eligible to apply, along with solid waste management districts, public schools, universities and colleges. The state says priority is given to applicants for regional projects. Each grant requires a 25% local match.
