Murray, KY – Kentucky has a new mascot to encourage high school students to go on to college. Morty the Mortarboard is being introduced in a booklet published by the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority. The 40-page booklet provides information about planning and paying for college. It also includes information about careers, college preparation, state and federal financial aid programs and financial literacy. The Mortarboard spokesman also will be appearing in other publications, online videos, and in person at outreach events to provide a variety of information and to warn future college students about the dangers of credit card debt.
