Lexington, KY – An Ohio man charged with sending Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear a message threatening to kill him will claim insanity in his defense. Thomas Edwin Hargreaves' attorney wants her client tested for competency to stand trial, she also plans to present an expert to testify about Hargreaves mental condition if the case goes to trial. A federal grand jury in Lexington charged Hargreaves in August with sending Beshear a message over the Internet calling him a pig and threatening to kill him. Hargreaves has pleaded not guilty.
