Frankfort, KY – Two major tasks face Kentucky lawmakers when they gather today in Frankfort for the beginning of their 2012 session. They must write-up a new, two-year state budget, and re-draw the Commonwealth's legislative boundaries. But, whatever they do this winter, state Senate President David Williams says lawmakers must always consider unemployment.
Appearing with Williams Monday evening on Kentucky Educational Television was House Speaker Greg Stumbo. While agreeing unemployment is a priority, Stumbo says that problem can be addressed while also investing in the construction and renovation of schools.
Both Kentucky's House of Representatives and its state senate convene today at eleven Central time. They have until April 15th to finish their work.
