Datebook: September 21 - Blood Drive, Communication Strategies, Needline Yard Sale

The American Red Cross holds a blood drive this Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Baptist Campus Ministries, located at 800 Waldrop in Murray. Donors must be at least 17, weigh at least 110 pounds, and be in general good health. More at redcrossblood.org

The McCracken County Cooperative Extension Office hosts “Effective Communication Strategies” this Wednesday from 12:30 to 3:30. The event helps family members learn to connect with people with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias using attitude, tone of voice, facial expressions, and body language. Registration is required by calling 1-800-272-3900.

The Mayfield-Graves County Needline & Food Pantry Community Yard Sale is now accepting donations. No clothing is being accepted, but drop off other yard sale items from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesdays and from 3 to 8 Thursdays at the small building to the right of the old Gotham City store in the Mayfield Shopping Plaza. The sale is set for September 26.
