Graves County Sheriff Dewayne Redmon is under a criminal drug-related investigation.
Kentucky State Police Drug Enforcement Special Investigations Unit Sergeant Dean Patterson said the department received a drug-related tip in early July.
Patterson said the unit will present findings from the investigation to the Graves County Grand Jury this month.
Redmon has no charges filed against him at this time.
Attorney Bryan Wilson has provided this statement:
“Over the past several months Sheriff Dewayne Redmon has battled a variety of health issues for which he has sought treatment. Recently Sheriff Redmon was made aware of an ongoing investigation into his alleged conduct. Due to these factors he has taken time out of the office to concentrate on his health. He remains in close contact with his staff and he will continue to perform his duties as Sheriff of Graves County. Sheriff Redmon and his family would very much appreciate your thoughts, prayers and understanding during this time.”
The investigation is still ongoing.
