Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear says he has tested negative for the new coronavirus after attending a public event in Louisville where another individual tested positive.

Beshear said his test results came back Saturday.

In a press conference Sunday afternoon, Beshear said the event was the Speed Art Museum's "Speed Ball" fundraiser on March 7. The Courier-Journal reports the individual who tested positive was a Lousiville philanthropist.

Kentucky Democratic Congressman John Yarmuth, who also attended the event, said Sunday he will self-quarantine at home this week and is awaiting test results after being in the presence of the individual who tested positive.

According to a release from Beshear's office, Kentucky has 21 positive cases as of Sunday evening.
