A restaurant in Madisonville suffered fire damage Wednesday morning. Ferrell's Hamburgers and Special Breakfastposted on Facebook a photo showing a destroyed interior.

Madisonville Fire Department Battalion Chief Brandon Tow said there were no injuries. He said the damage is to the building’s contents and the structure is salvageable.

Ferrell's said on Facebook the insurance process is underway and they hope to fix everything and reopen soon.

Captain Alex Smith said the department got a call just after 3 a.m. Employees had served the last customer and were restocking. He said a griddle/grill was still on and the fire started in the back corner. Employees attempted multiple methods to extinguish the fire, including a fire extinguisher, then exited the structure and called the fire department.

Smith said it's important for people to know the quicker the fire department gets the call, the better the outcome.

"There was nothing intentional, just a bad set of circumstances... Hopefully they'll get to the point where they can get it back open. That's always the goal," Smith said.
