Man Suspected in Murder of Paducah Resident Surrenders to Police

A Clinton, Kentucky man charged in the shooting death of a Paducah resident last week turned himself in early this morning.

The Paducah Police Department arrested 32-year-old Mauricus S. Haynes on a warrant charging him with the murder of 34-year-old Nathanial G. Cody, with whom Haynes was acquainted.

Officers found Cody lying in 1300 block of Burnett Street with a gunshot wound to his chest around 12:14 a.m. last Wednesday. He was taken to Baptist Health Paducah, where he was pronounced dead.

Haynes is booked at the McCracken County Regional Jail. 

A proud native of Murray, Kentucky, Allison grew up roaming the forests of western Kentucky and visiting national parks across the country.
