The Murray State University bass anglers team won the Fishing League Worldwide College Fishing National Championship on Thursday in Maryland.

Rising Juniors Blake Albertson and Adam Puckett caught a total 51 pounds and three ounces of fish on the Potomac River by the end of the three-day championship.

The duo edged out the second place team from Bethel University by three ounces, the smallest margin of victory in the championship’s history.

The championship wins the duo a brand new boat and outboard and more than $27,000 dollars of prize money. Albertson and Puckett will also get a chance to compete in the 2019 FLW Cup, considered to be the world championship of bass fishing, in August.
