NPR's Howard Berkes reports that there's an answer to the great infant formula mystery. The mystery opened a year ago, when strange reports began coming in from all over the country. Men and boys were walking into discount stores, and buying cartloads of baby formula with fists full of cash. Suspicious police called in the F-B-I, the customs service, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Secret Service, the State Department and the Immigration Service. But no one figured out why baby formula was such a hot commodity. Until now.

Criminologist WALTER DICKEY. He is the author of the report What Every Policy Maker Should Know About Imprisonment and the Crime Rate. Professor Dickey of the University of Wisconsin Law School, has a new way of viewing crime in our society. Based on his recent report issued by the Campaign for an Effective Crime Policy, he and officials have concluded that incarceration has little effect on crime rates. They believe that there are number of factors which limit the impact of prison on crime.

NPR's Tom Gjelten reports from Sarajevo on efforts to stop Bosnian Serbs from fleeing their homes in the Sarajevo suburbs. Under the Dayton peace agreement, those Serb suburbs come under the control of the Muslim-led Bosnia government. There are reports that some Serbs are loading everything they can into their cars and burning their houses after leaving. The top civilian adminstrator for NATO today met with three Bosnian Serb leaders to explore ways to stop the exodus.

The satirical news site reported a bogus poll: 77 percent of rural white voters would rather vote for Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad than President Obama. The Iranian news agency Fars did not understand it was a joke, and reported the survey as fact.

In the second report on the current Supreme Court, NPR Legal Affairs Correspondent Nina Totenberg reports on a number of decisions the Supreme Court reached this term. The justices were divided along ideological lines, with the conservative block dominating for most of the decisions. Many of the rulings though, concerned limiting federal power, striking down more federal laws than upheld. The decisions upheld tended to be earlier liberal Supreme Court rulings, such as when they reaffirmed Miranda.

Reporter Alix Spiegel reports on a growing movement in cities across the country -- Urban Exploration. She accompanies three explorers into an unused New York City subway tunnel. These urban explorers seek out the dark, forbidden and difficult to reach corners of the city -- defunct drainage systems, "no access" hotel roofs, the occasional city hall -- those places least accessible. The explorers describe the places as the frontiers of the urban landscape. The wear dark suits and ties -- "urban camouflage" and share their findings and adventures with other urban explorers via the Internet.

In the first of two reports on the current Supreme Court, NPR's Nina Totenberg reports on the Justices' increased propensity to strike down federal laws. This past term, the Supreme Court issued numerous rulings that affected the other two branches of the federal government. It struck down several major federal laws and invalidated the FDA's attempt to regulate tobacco as a drug. Some legal scholars see this as a return to earlier periods in the Court's history, when it more aggressively scrutinized federal laws and policies.

In the second of her three part series on Jerusalem, NPR's Jennifer Ludden reports that Israelis living in what was once Arab East Jerusalem are nervous about the potential outcome of peace negotiations with the Palestinians. There are reports that Prime Minister Ehud Barak is prepared to cede some of the city's remaining Arab neighborhoods to a future Palestinian state. As Camp David winds up its eighth day of discussions between Palestinians and Israelis, the question of who controls Jerusalem is the potential deal breaker of any peace agreement.
