The BBC's Chris Florence in Bangalore, India, reports on extraordinary security measures in place for this weekend's World Cup Cricket match between India and Pakistan. One group has already been arrested for inciting riot. The rivalry goes beyond sports, into national hatreds.
Detroit Mob
The FBI today said they've arrested more than a dozen suspected mob leaders indicted by a federal jury on 25 charges. Several of them were arraigned today in Detroit. NPR's Don Gonyea reports that virtually every mob leader in Detroit has been indicted.
Tire Fire
Vincent Thompson of member station WHYY reports on the major dispruption on Interstate-95, five miles north of Philadelphia. Arsonists set a huge pile of illegally dumped tires on fire, and that, in turn, damaged a section of the highway that carries about 150-thousand cars each day.
Wuyauwega
Twelve days ago citizens of Weyauwega, [wy-uh-WEE-guh] Wisconsin were evacuated from their homes following the derailment of railroad cars carrying fourteen propane tankers. Wisconsin Public Radio's Gil Halsted reports on life at a hotel where more than fifty evacuated families have been staying.
Child Soldier Rehab
NPR's Kenneth Walker reports on the rehabilitation of the child soldiers of the civil war in Sierra Leone. Not only have the children witnessed and participated in atrocious violence, but many have become addicted to drugs as a way to deal with their experiences.

Gore - NEA
The National Education Association, the nation's largest teachers' union, today gave its presidential endorsement to Democratic Vice President Al Gore, who was on hand at the union's convention to accept. The nod was no surprise, as the NEA usually backs Democrats. NPR's Claudio Sanchez reports.
Genetically Modified Foods
NPR's Martin Kaste reports the battle over genetically modified crops is spreading to South America. Brazil and Argentina sorting out their policies, with Argentine farmers embracing some genetically modified crops, and Brazil taking a more cautious approach.
Toysmart
NPR's Larry Abramson reports on Toysmart, an online toy retailer that is declaring bankruptcy and wants to sell its customer list, despite the privacy policy posted on its Web site that said it wouldn't do that. The federal government could take action, if it decides the company deceived customers.
Religious Conflict in North Ireland
The BBC's Elaine Lester reports on the centuries-old conflict between Catholics and Protestants in Northern Ireland. Against the backdrop of recent calm there, the yearly march of the Orange Order seems more heated than in years past.
