. The Scene
NPR's Sylvia Poggioli reports from Dubrovnik on the discrepancies in information between officials from the United States and Croatia about the crash of the U.S. Air Force plane. The weather at the time crash is described as the worst in a decade raising questions about the pilot's decision to lond. Investigators arrived at the site today to begin their search for the cause of the crash.
. Amazon Cave People
NPR's Richard Harris reports that archaeologists have discovered the remains of a previously unknown society that apparently thrived in caves in the Amazon about 11,000 years ago. Researchers unearthed artifacts of the culture in a cave in what is now Brazil. The discovery raises new questions about how the Americas were peopled.
. Kanajaharege Farm
A two-year old community in central New York where a few hearty Mohawks are struggling to keep a farm going while studying the language, culture, and practices of their ancestors. Over the past two years many native Americans have visited the farm and some have stayed to help work it. Dick Brooks reports.
Kaczynski Charged
Janet Reno announces that has been charged. NPR's Howard Berkes reports that the FBI has arrested and charged a man suspected of being the Unabomber. Theodore Kaczynski was chargeed in Helena, Montana with possession of materials to make a bomb... but the FBI says he may be the man responsible for 15 bombing attacks that have left 3 people dead.
Assault Weapons
The House has passed a bill today that would repeal a ban on assault weapons. Members of the House engaged in extremely bitter debate on whether to overturn the ban that was part of President Clinton's crime bill. The President has said he will veto the overturn and the Senate may not even vote on it. NPR's Peter Kenyon reports.
Silicon & Courts
NPR's Joanne Silberner reports that the largest study of its kind has failed to find any significant health risks posed by silicone breast implants. The study found only a slightly increased risk for "connective tissue" diseases. The results are the latest to cast doubt on claims that the implants are a major health risk.
Desgregation In St Louis
A U-S District court hearing on St. Louis' desegregation program is in its third and final week. The program, which has been in effect for fifteen years, is one of the most costly in the country. Melissa Jaco reports that the state of Missouri is asking the court to end the program.

P-R's Eric Weiner (WINE-er) reports from ersualem where thousands of Christian pilgrims have gathered to commemorate hrist's crucifixion and ressurection. He also looks at the continuing debate bout where exactly in Jerusalem the crucifixion took place.
Cheating School
- For several years the Stratfield public elementary school in Fairfield, Connecticut has scored high marks for academic excellence with a well established reputation as one of the best public schools in the nation. But Tandaleya Wilder of Connecticut Public Radio reports that recent allegations of test tampering have tarnished Stratfield's image...and led to an investigation of the school.
Digital Editing Problems
NPR's Dan Charles reports that proliferation of digital audio technology is raising some concerns among legal experts. The new technology makes it much easier to alter audio recordings. Some lawyers and audio experts worry that it could be used to falsify recordings used as evidence.
