Jake Ryan is reporter and producer at KVNF. He received his B.A. in Journalism from Western Illinois University. After serving with Americorps and volunteering for a community radio station in Maryland, he graduated from the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies. His pieces have been aired on Delmarva Public Radio, Maine Public Broadcasting Network, and New Hampshire Public Radio. He enjoys board games, trying new things, and flying kites.

Kala Dunn is a native of Princeton, Ky. She’s a 2006 graduate of the Interlochen Arts Academy with a concentration in flute performance and a 2010 graduate of Murray State University with a B.M. in piano performance. She lives in Hamlin, Ky.

Lisa is a Scottsville native and WKU alum. She has worked in radio as a news reporter and anchor for 18 years. Prior to joining WKU Public Radio, she most recently worked at WHAS in Louisville and WLAC in Nashville. She has received numerous awards from the Associated Press, including Best Reporter in Kentucky. Many of her stories have been heard on NPR.

News Director Dan Modlin is a native of Indiana who grew up in a broadcasting family. A graduate of Ball State University, he worked for several years in the news network business in the Midwest, specializing in agricultural and political coverage, before coming to WKU Public Radio. His reports have earned numerous national and state awards for documentary production, public affairs reporting, and enterprise reporting.

David Weatherly works at WKMS part-time while holding down a full-time job as a School Based Speech Language Pathologist. He has been with WKMS for over 20 years off and on and has a lifelong interest in music of all kinds which he pours into all of his shows. He was the host of the jazz fusion, chillout and groove show Jazz Horizons on Friday nights and now hosts a similar show Friday nights called House Blend. He also hosts the summer seasonal show, Sounds of the Silver Screen.
