She also serves on the Reader Advisory Board for MediaShift, where she was metrics section editor. Alexandra grew up in Pittsburgh and studied at the Maryland Institute College of Art. She began her career in journalism with PublicSource, a non-profit news organization in Pittsburgh, as interactive developer and metrics analyst. The University of Michigan recently named Alexandra a finalist for the Livingston Awards for Young Journalists, which honors the best journalism professionals under the age of 35.

Ryan Van Velzer has told stories of people surviving floods in Thailand, record-breaking heat in Arizona and Hurricane Irma in South Florida. He has worked for The Arizona Republic, The Associated Press and The South Florida Sun Sentinel in addition to working as a travel reporter in Central America and Southeast Asia. Born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, Ryan is happy to finally live in a city that has four seasons.

ReSource managing editor Jeff Young has reported from Appalachian coalfields, Capitol Hill, and New England’s coast, among other places. Jeff worked for West Virginia Public Broadcasting and was Washington correspondent for the nationally distributed program Living on Earth. Recently, he directed communications for ocean conservation with The Pew Charitable Trusts in Boston. Jeff grew up near Huntington, West Virginia, and studied journalism and biology at Marshall University and the University of Charleston. His reporting has been recognized with numerous awards and he was named a 2012 Nieman Journalism Fellow at Harvard University.

Melanie Davis-McAfee graduated from Murray State University in 2018 with a BA in Music Business. She has been working for WKMS as a Music and Operations Assistant since 2017. Melanie hosts the late-night alternative show Alien Lanes, Fridays at 11 pm with co-host Tim Peyton. She also produces Rick Nance's Kitchen Sink and Datebook and writes Sounds Good stories for the web.

Lindsey is a student at Southeast Missouri State University, studying a Bachelor of Arts in Music and a minor in Mass Communication. She spends her time discovering new music, strolling about Cape Girardeau’s antique shops, gardening, and painting. You can see her perform with the Jazz ensembles at Southeast’s River Campus. Au fait with everything Pixar, animated movies and movie scores, Lindsey’s dream career is to be a voice actor, yet as she awaits her big break, she hopes to snatch a job in radio journalism and on-air hosting as a young adult.
