John Ydstie has covered the economy, Wall Street, and the Federal Reserve at NPR for nearly three decades. Over the years, NPR has also employed Ydstie's reporting skills to cover major stories like the aftermath of Sept. 11, Hurricane Katrina, the Jack Abramoff lobbying scandal, and the implementation of the Affordable Care Act. He was a lead reporter in NPR's coverage of the global financial crisis and the Great Recession, as well as the network's coverage of President Trump's economic policies. Ydstie has also been a guest host on the NPR news programs Morning Edition, All Things Considered, and Weekend Edition. Ydstie stepped back from full-time reporting in late 2018, but plans to continue to contribute to NPR through part-time assignments and work on special projects.

The series inspired Hidden Kitchens: Stories, Recipes, and More from NPR's The Kitchen Sisters, a New York Times Notable Book of the Year that was also nominated for a James Beard Award for Best Writing on Food. The Hidden Kitchens audio book, narrated by Academy Award winner, Frances McDormand, received a 2006 Audie Award.

Shelby Ashley is the host of All Things Considered at WKMS. She moved to Murray from Clarksville, Tennessee in 2012 to attend Murray State University, where she met her husband and has continued to grow with the community surrounding her. She started as an administrative assistant in 2023, and moved into her hosting role in 2025. She also hosts the music program In Rotation Saturdays at 10pm, where her main goal is to give you musical whiplash every week! Outside of the office, she loves hosting karaoke events for the community, supporting our local businesses, and checking out the local live music scene in our region.
