When Janet Reno steps down this month, she will have made history as the longest serving attorney general of the 20th century. Her eight-year tenure has been book-ended by controversial decisions in Waco, Texas, and in the case of Elian Gonzalez. But Reno also leaves a legacy of law enforcement at the local level. Host Lisa Simeone speaks with Jim Oliphant, a reporter with the Legal Times newspaper.

Christoph Eschenbach has been named the new Music Director of the Philadelphia Orchestra. He will take over in 2003, becoming only the seventh music director in the orchestra's 100 year history. He comes from the Houston Symphony Orchestra and is also music director at the Orchestre de Paris, the Hamburg NDR Symphony Orchestra, and the Ravinia Music Festival. He has worked on Saturday Night Live, Seinfeld and The Simpsons. Kaling had a role in Carrell's The 40-Year-Old Virgin and appeared on an episode of HBO's Curb Your Enthusiasm.

David Newman is a political columnist for The Jerusalem Post. He is also chairman of the department of politics and government at Ben Gurion University of the Negev and editor of The International Journal of Geopolitics. He'll discuss the history of the Jewish settlements in the West Bank and Gaza. He's written about the settlements in The New York Times. Historian and author Douglas Brinkley teaches at Tulane University and was displaced by Hurricane Katrina. He has since returned to New Orleans and begun to document the catastrophe by gathering oral histories -- he hopes to collect as many as 20,000 -- for a book, tentatively titled The Great Deluge.
