Murray-Calloway County Chamber of Commerce to Name Next President

The Murray-Calloway County Chamber of Commerce will announce the new Chamber president Thursday at its annual dinner.

The full board met Monday to approve the search committee's pick for the job. The committee picked from  four finalists. Two of the finalists were from Murray, and the others were from Kentucky and out of state.
The previous Chamber president, Lance Allison, left the position in May to serve as the Chamber of Commerce president in Panama City Beach, Florida. The Chamber Dinner is tomorrow night at 7 at the CFSB Center.

Chad Lampe, a Poplar Bluff, Missouri native, was raised on radio. He credits his father, a broadcast engineer, for his technical knowledge, and his mother for the gift of gab. At ten years old he broke all bonds of the FCC and built his own one watt pirate radio station. His childhood afternoons were spent playing music and interviewing classmates for all his friends to hear. At fourteen he began working for the local radio stations, until he graduated high school. He earned an undergraduate degree in Psychology at Murray State, and a Masters Degree in Mass Communication. In November, 2011, Chad was named Station Manager in 2016.
Whitney grew up listening to Car Talk to and from her family’s beach vacation each year, but it wasn’t until a friend introduced her to This American Life that radio really grabbed her attention. She is a recent graduate from Union University in Jackson, Tenn., where she studied journalism. When she’s not at WKMS, you can find her working on her backyard compost pile and garden, getting lost on her bicycle or crocheting one massive blanket.
