Non-profit Kentucky Book Fair is giving three of its seven grants to public and community college libraries in our region.
Livingston County Public Library is receiving one of the largest grants with 15-hundred dollars to purchase more books about the arts for adults and children.
The Hopkins County-Madisonville and Hopkinsville-Christian County libraries both received 750 dollars to help with literacy efforts and expand a Kentucky special collection.
The other four grants include: $1,500 to Carter County Public Library to enhance its adult fiction collection, $1,000 to Powell County Public Library to refresh popular books, $750 to Maysville Community and Technical College to purchase books for its Learning Lab and $750 to Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College at Middlesboro for graphic novels and current fiction.
Funds for the grants come from the non-profit’s annual book fair, which is being held Nov. 16 at the Frankfort Convention Center.
