MCC Parks and Recreation Considers Accessible Playground

mymurray.com

The Murray-Calloway County Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a special meeting to gather input on a grant to build an accessible playground in the local parks. The meeting is tonight at 6:30 at the Murray-Calloway County Chamber of Commerce. Last Monday the parks board unanimously approved a motion to apply for a matching federal Land and Water Conservation Fund grant to help fund the accessible playground. The LWCF grant matches private contributions one-to-one and caps at $75,000 in federal matching funds. The projected cost of the accessible playground will be approximately $100,000, according to park officials.
