A Marshall County jury awarded former North Marshall Water District employee and whistleblower Paula Boling $33,730 in back wages and punitive damages.
A case attorney says after 18 years with the water district, Boling was fired in 2011 in retaliation for bringing light to former superintendent Brad Anderson’s mismanagement of funds. According to Boling's attorney Wes Sullenger, Boling confronted Anderson and water district board members in 2010 when she noticed unnecessary purchases such as a golf cart, an old car, and a storage building. When the water district failed to take any action, Boling reported the mismanagement and theft of funds to the Kentucky State Police.
