After 17 Years, JPEC CEO to Step Down

Jackson Purchase Energy

Jackson Purchase Energy Corporation President and CEO G. Kelly Nuckols says he will step down in 2015 from the post he’s held for seventeen years.  Nuckols says his retirement, set for April 30th was prompted by his desire to spend more time with his family, his two grandsons in particular.  Until his departure, he will serve in a consulting capacity to help smooth the transition.  Since coming to JPEC in 1997, Nuckols counts among his major accomplishments an exemplary safety record, some of the lowest rates in the Commonwealth, and a strong working relationship with Paducah Power System.  JPEC Board Chairman Gary Joiner says the utility is much different and better than when Nuckols assumed the role of president and CEO.

Todd Hatton hails from Paducah, Kentucky, where he got into radio under the auspices of the late, great John Stewart of WKYX while a student at Paducah Community College. He also worked at WKMS in the reel-to-reel tape days of the early 1990s before running off first to San Francisco, then Orlando in search of something to do when he grew up. He received his MFA in Creative Writing at Murray State University. He vigorously resists adulthood and watches his wife, Angela Hatton, save the world one plastic bottle at a time.
