The Jackson Purchase Energy Corporation’s board of directors has selected Dennis Cannon to serve as the company’s new president and CEO.
The board approved his appointment unanimously during a recent meeting at the cooperative’s Paducah headquarters.
Cannon replaces KellyNuckolswho announced his retirement in November after 17 years in the position.
As CEO, Cannon will oversee all operations at the utility and report to the cooperative’s board of directors.
Cannon comes from a 20-year career with the Kentucky Association of Electric Cooperatives serving as vice president for public relations the last four years. He’s also served on numerous public and non-profit boards of directors.
JPEC provides power to more than 30,000 accounts in six west Kentucky counties.
Cannon takes office May 4th.
