BOOM: 19 Places to See Fireworks this Independence Day Weekend

Here's where you can see fireworks and other Independence Day related events this holiday weekend. 

Friday, July 3

  • Murray: Freedom Fest (July 3-4) begins Friday evening on court square with food, crafts and games; parade and street fair Saturday with fireworks display beginning at 9:30 pm from Bee Creek Soccer Complex. 

  • Gilbertsville: Kentucky Lake Big Bang at Moors Resort and Marina. Fireworks begin at 9 pm. Best view from the water. 

  • Metropolis, Illinois: Hometown Celebration featuring music, BBQ, games and fireworks at 9 pm in Harrah's Metropolis Casino parking lot. 

  • Dawson Springs: Independence Day Celebration at Riverside Park. Baseball, concert, fireworks display begins after dark. 

  • Fish Fry Friday - Hotel Metropolitan Museum, Paducah  11 am - 3 pm, 5 pm - 6:30 pm

Saturday, July 4

  • Calvert City: Ameribration Celebration - Community event at Calvert City's Memorial Park featuring food vendors, water works, car show, live music. Parade at 7 pm with free watermelon. Fireworks at 9 pm. 

  • Owensboro: Family Freedom Fireworks Festival at Panther Creek Park. Vendors open at 5 pm, fireworks begin at 9:15 pm. 

  • Eddyville: Thunder Over Eddy Bay at Eddy Creek Marina featuring vendors, inflatable and live music. Fireworks begin at 9:30 pm. 

  • Cadiz: Fireworks at the Beach at Lake Barkley State Resort Park. Volleyball and outdoor games on the beach throughout the day, fireworks begin at dusk. 

  • Paducah: Independence Day Celebration on Paducah's riverfront. Vendors will begin selling food and beverages at 5:30 pm. The Paducah Concert Band will perform and kick off the fireworks display at 9:15 pm. 

  • Paris Landing State Resort Park, TN: Fireworks after dark 

  • Hopkinsville: Western Kentucky State Fair. Fireworks display at 9 pm. 

  • Madisonville: Madisonville 4th Fest featuring live music concert, beer garden, food vendors and picnics and baseball movie. Festivities begin at 6 pm at Madisonville City Park, fireworks begin at dusk. 

  • Fulton: Fireworks, Fun & Freedom at Pontonoc Park, beginning at dusk. 

  • Hickman: Firework Celebration on Hickman Harbor Riverfront, beginning at dusk. 

  • Mayfield: Glory Days on courthouse lawn with live music, fireworks from high school stadium at dusk 

  • Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park: Freedom Day Celebration -  fireworks at dark

  • Kuttawa: Fireworks at Kuttawa Harbor - fireworks beginning at dusk. 

  • LBL: 1850's Homeplace Traditional Independence Day Celebration from 1 - 4 pm at the Homeplace. 

Sunday, July 5

  • Fancy Farm, Ky - St. Jerome Church, fireworks begin at 9:00 pm SUNDAY

  • Cadiz: Prizer's Point Marina - fireworks begin at 9 pm
Rob Canning is a native of Murray, KY, a 2015 TV Production grad of Murray State. At MSU, he served as team captain of the Murray State Rowing Club. Rob's goal is to become a screenwriter, film director or producer and looks to the likes of Quentin Tarantino and Guy Ritchie for inspiration. He appreciates good music, mainly favoring British rock n' roll, and approves of anything with Jack White's name on it. When not studying, rowing or writing, Rob enjoys spending his free time with a book or guitar.
