Murray Police Investigating Shots Fired Near Campus; No Injuries Reported

Murray State University sent out a safety bulletin Tuesday night alerting students and staff of a shooting that occurred near - but not on - campus.

According to the bulletin, unknown suspects fired a gun multiple times into a residence "northwest of campus". No other details were offered.

The Murray Police Department is investigating the incident. No injuries were reported, according to a police report issued by MPD public affairs officer David Howe. Anyone with information about the shooting is encouraged to contact MPD at (270) 753-1621.

MSU's campus will remain open. Murray State Police urge anyone that sees something suspicious on campus to report it by calling (270) 809-2222. You can also contact campus police via the school's LiveSafe app.
