The Owensboro Health System is planning to open a rural primary care and specialty clinic in Muhlenberg County this spring.
The non-profit health system announced plans today to construct an 8,000-sq. ft .clinic at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville.
“It’s our mission to heal the sick and improve the health of this community,” said Ed Heath, CEO of Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital. “One way we can contribute to that mission is by increasing local access to healthcare providers. We recognize the need for additional primary care and sub-specialists in our local community so we’re expanding services and making space for more to come in the near future.”
As early as this month, the clinic will begin providing primary care and specialized medicines including neurology, orthopedics, medical oncology, urology and general surgery. In addition, the clinic will also house outpatient radiology and laboratory services.
The new building is set to open later this spring.
