A west Kentucky advocacy center for child abuse and sexual violence survivors is changing its name and launching a new initiative.
The Purchase Area Sexual Assault and Child Advocacy Center - known as ‘PASAC’ - is now operating under the name ‘Lotus.’ Executive Director Lori Brown said the change symbolizes the the possibility of hope and healing above the “muddy waters of struggle, violence and hardship.”
Lotus is introducing an initiative called ‘Collective Empowerment’, aimed at changing the way people think about child abuse and sexual assault. The program will offer outreach, awareness and prevention education programs to local schools and organizations.
Their services are free to anyone living in the Purchase Area.
