I-24 Eastbound To Reopen Following Landslide

Wikimedia Commons, Public Domain

The Tennessee Department of Transportation plans to reopen I-24 eastbound Wednesday evening following a landslide that occurred last month.

I-24 eastbound is being temporarily widened to accommodate two lanes of traffic while crews work on permanent slope repairs.

The repairs include additional excavation and installation of a rock buttress approximately 50 feet wide.

TDOT estimates this work will take two to three months to complete and cost $8 million.
