The Murray State Racers Men’s Basketball team opened their 2012 – 2013 season with an 87 - 74 win over the Freed-Hardeman Lions last night. Racer Coach Steve Prohm says the exhibition game showed the team where they could improve. Notably absent from the court was Racer Guard Zaveral “Zay” Jackson who played every game of the team’s record 31 - 2 season last year. Jackson is suspended from play this season after pleading guilty to an assault earlier this fall. The Racers play their first regular season game this Friday against the Brescia University Bearcats at 7:30 pm at the CFSB center.
