The Murray State University women’s basketball team has upset No. 1 seed UT Martin in the first round of the Ohio Valley Conference tournament.
The Racers (12-16) took down the Skyhawks (21-9) 78-76.
According to Murray State Athletics, this is the first time a No. 8 seed has defeated a top seed since the tournament moved to an eight-team format in 1997.
Murray State looks to keep their playoff dreams alive when they face the winner of Eastern Kentucky and Austin Peay in a semifinal game March 4.
