Groups set an all-time record for lobbying spending in the first month of a Kentucky General Assembly session, with the statewide business advocacy group easily leading all spenders.

Groups spent more than $28 million to lobby members of the Kentucky General Assembly throughout 2025, eclipsing a record set the previous year.

Government contractors, health-related groups and the medical marijuana industry were among hundreds of organizations that spent $9.1 million lobbying Kentucky’s executive branch agencies on policy in the fiscal year ending this summer.
