The head of the Kentucky Economic Development Cabinet hopes to bring more businesses to rural Kentucky communities, especially in the eastern and western parts of the state.

Kentucky will receive a $117 million award from the federal government to support small business growth.

A widespread outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) is one of several reasons cited by industry experts for a surge in egg prices over the last year. Now, Kentucky poultry farmers are working to better protect their flocks from disease.

The sessions will happen every two weeks starting April 19 and will cover a range of topics to help entrepreneurs and small business owners grow and expand their capabilities.
